Hi! Once again I’ve been included in this cool show run by Samantha and Rudolfo Carrillo. It’s a great lineup and a wholesome (?) good time! Please come out Saturday September 26th at 7:00 p.m. if you’re in ‘Burque…and spread the word!
Hi! The Women of the World Poetry Slam 2015 is over. There were hundreds of the best female and female-identified poets in the country in Albuquerque this week, and I feel honored to have been in workshops, audiences and on stage with some of them! Not only that, Albuquerque’s own Mercedez Holtry tied for third place in the finals!
Saturday’s Local Poets Showcase was one of the event’s highlights for me. Thanks to everyone who attended, and for those who didn’t make it, here is the audio of my performance!
Hi there fans and fellow lovers of spoken word! Albuquerque is hosting the annual NATIONAL Women of the World (WOW) Poetry Slam this week, Wednesday through Saturday! On Saturday March 21st from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the Main Library (501 Copper Ave NW) I’ll be joining TWELVE other female poets to showcase the best of our local poetry and slam talent. Please come out to this free show, and spread the word. Learn more about WOW online, buy a ticket to the final championship even ton Saturday night, and learn more about the show on Facebook. See you at WOW!
A Happening for positivity, change and light! This Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Tortuga Gallery in Albuquerque – spread the word!
Hi there poetry peeps! Much to my surprise and delight, two of my pieces are appearing in the spring edition of Catching Calliope, a Swimming with Elephants Production. The poems are Love Cage and Spring…
Meanwhile, I’ll be slamming at both Más and Final Friday this month — check the schedule in the sidebar to the right for details…
Thanks everyone who came out to ArtBar last Saturday night, it was quite a show! If you’re looking for a fun time in Albuquerque this Sunday afternoon, come check out I’ll Drink to That, starting at 4:00 p.m., at the NEW location of Tractor Brewery — 1800 4th Street NW. I’ll be doing a poetry feature performance — and drinking some excellent beer!
One year ago today I first participated in the Albuquerque slam scene as the sacrificial poet at Poetry & Beer. Two championships, three features, multiple slams and tons of new friendships later, I can hardly believe it! All I set out to do was to try sharing some of my poems publically, and while things took off in a way I didn’t expect or intend, I’m still enjoying it and still making time for art and words among my many pursuits and commitments.
So come celebrate with me! Next Saturday, March 15th I offer some poems during the Rhythm & Words benefit for the Agora Crisis Center at ArtBar starting at 7:00 p.m. See Facebook for more info. No better way to celebrate my anniversary and the momentous Ides of March!
